November 2008 Comes to an End

Kiri is a week shy of 3 months old now. Much to our delight, she is starting to smile and has the cutest little baby dimples when she smiles courtesy of her dad. She still enjoys sleeping and eating the most and is starting to take interest in watching her big brother. Lyon, on the other hand, is a baby on a mission. With his crawling days behind him, he walks all over the house. He got his first pair of shoes-Cookie Monster and Elmo decorated. He sits in Kiri's bassinet like its his own personal hot tub and watches TV. He loves to watch the wild chickens in the yard from the window and he can almost say "chicken". For some weird reason, he really likes the broom. You can't sweep a floor without him chasing the broom around trying to grab a hold of it. And of course, he loves music. Every time a song plays he plays air drums-cymbols and all. He likes to walk around the house wearing Ariki's headphones and letting the chord drag behind him. If there is a guitar around he wants to strum it. It all begs the old question: nature vs. nuture?? perhaps a bit of both....
We leave for New Zealand in less than a week. This is a very special trip because Kiriana and Lyon will be meeting their paternal grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins for the very first time. We have waited a long time for this trip-to bring the babies home. We will be there for the whole month of December so look forward to some great stories and photos of the place where it all started!!

Kissing Kiri

Here they are...Lyon 15 months old and Kiri just 2 months old. He loves to give her big sloppy kisses. He also likes to drum her face if we don't monitor him closely.

End of October!

Walking little man!

This past week Lyon took his first steps!!!

Halloween 2008

We ended up not going out for Halloween. Ariki had to play a gig at Duke's so he needed a costume. Lyon got to be...umm..baby with a cape while he rode around K-Mart.
